LANAUDIÈRE

The region of Lanaudière offers surprising encounters all through its territory: 5 different itineraries, identified on the map of Les Chemins de campagne, grouped by geographic area and going through the foothills of the Laurentians, the green valleys, the St. Lawrence River and some of the oldest seigneuries of the region. The roads, if all distances are added up, amount to some 420 kilometres in distance and will take you to more than 40 gardens, agro-tourism, heritage and natural sites.

You will be greeted by passionate producers that will make you discover their products and find out about their processes.

Visit the region’s 5 agro-tourism itineraries as suggested in Les Chemins de campagne: Fleurs et Délices (Terrebonne), Moore Gardens (Mascouche), Pépinière Villeneuve (L’Assomption). Les Volailles d’Angèle (St-Esprit) offer a wide variety of poultry and game as well as prepared products.

Stop at the Moulin Bleu (St-Roch de l’Achigan) and at Fromagerie La Voie Lactée (L’Assomption). Le Jardin de la Passion (St-Jacques) is also worth the trip.

La Bergerie des Neiges (St-Ambroise-de-Kildare) offers visits of the farm. Nect’Art de fleurs (St-Ambroise-de-Kildare) has honey for all occasions. La Confiturerie En Robe des Champs makes home-style jams with a wide variety of fruit. Les Ateliers Cimon (Ste-Marcelline-de-Kildare) presents traditional techniques. Learn more about bonsais at Bonsaï Gros-Bec (St-Alphonse-Rodriguez). Don’t miss La Guilde du Pain d’Épices (St-Jean-de-Matha) where buying traditional gingerbread is more than just buying cookies. At Domaine Maurel-Coulombe (St-Jean-de-Matha), you will learn about Foie gras and ducks. Ferme L’Oie d’Or (St-Gabriel-de-Brandon) has all-natural raising facilities. At Les Jardins du Grand Portage (St-Didace), you will visit a distinctly ecologic garden. Harvest your own Christmas tree at La Plantation Fernet (St-Cuthbert). La Courgerie (Ste-Élisabeth) grows more than 300 varieties of cucurbitaceous (squashes, marrows, pumpkins). Learn more about bees at Miel Morand (St-Thomas). Les Produits Harnois (one of Quebec’s largest asparagus producers) and Vignoble Le Mernois (winery) offer guided tours. Maison Rosali-Cadron (Lavaltrie) has an exhibition about “Domestic Arts”. Find out more about wine at Vignoble Carone and Vignoble Aux Pieds des Noyers, both located in Lanoraie. La Chapelle des Cuthbert (Berthierville) is a landmark. La Boulangerie Délices d’Antan (Berthierville) offers many old-fashioned baked goods.
